Sonia Balassanian (New York/
Armenia)has her nude male protagonist vanish and reappear in another kind of artificial
structure, a net of subterranean clay containers. For Balassanian, a simple rural
operation of the wine growing peasants back in her home country serves as an existential
metaphor. This work which simultaneously links the temporal safety of a manmade structure
with the instability and vulnerability of a human being, that is technoid with humanoid
contents, will be seen in the entrance zone of "navelGaze". |
